DRB Blog - 2007 - by Denny
Wednesday, January 23, 2008 What’s new
Ok - so it's been a long time since I've been here. We now have a new drummer (again). His name is Lance Campbell. So not a lot happening right now. We're trying to get Lance up to speed so we can go out and play. In Februar We are going to go to the Men's Retreat in Tahoe for our church to do the music and then a little mini concert on Saturday Night. Don Parish is working on a Benefit Concert sometime mid year to fight Human Trafficking. Other than that, not much going on. We hope to get ramped up to play quite a bit this summer.
Monday, July 23, 2007 Colusa Casino gig
Ok, so I know it's been a couple of weeks since we played at Colusa Casino but I just haven't gotten around to bloggin' about it.
We had a good time and the staff was great! Had a couple of technical issues but got them worked out and I broke 2 or 3 strings. One of the girls from Highway 99 showed up on Friday night. If you don't know about the "Girls on Highway 99" you'll just have to come see us play or you can ask Don Parish.
The best thing about this gig for me besides the playing music was the workout room and gym. Saturday I was able to go work out with all the cool equipment I don't have at home and then play basketball on their indoor court. This basketball court was Great! Beautiful condition, I loved it! Then I sat in the sauna.
There's a good chance we'll play back there again. They're bringing in a lot of different bands and will start bringing bands back next year.
Our next scheduled gig is August 16-18 @ Gold Country Casino. Hope to see you there.
Saturday, June 30, 2007 Gold Country Casino gig
Here's the latest:
Rob (the drummer) is back on his feet and ready to play - except for the fact that he's a fireman. So he was in Tahoe when we had our gig at Gold Country Casino. So... to the rescue... Alan Alderfer. Alan filled in and with only 2 practices did a great job. Because we play original music, it's very difficult to just sit in. So a BIG THANKS to Alan.
The gig went really well. It went so well, they're booking us for a 3 nighter in August.
The crowd was small (Thursday night) but very enthusiastic. Lots of dancing going on. Some of the comments were... "best band we've had on a Thursday night" (apparently they've had some bad bands on Thursdays)... "you guys are really good, hope to see you again". Anyway we're looking forward to going back.
Well.. that's it for now. Gotta go.
Thursday, April 05, 2007 Been a while
Ok, so I've been a bad boy not keeping up the blog. So here's what's been happening.
Rob the (fireman) drummer had to have surgery on both feet, 40 stitches, multiple broken bones, pins, etc. He's back up, moving around and should be ready for practice on Monday.
Don (keyboards) will be gone most of June. He'll be back just in time for our Gig on the 28th @ Gold Country Casino.
We've got some cool new material since the CD, includng a musical change for the song Mistaken.
We're looking forward to booking more gigs for the summer. Hope you can join us some time.
